Carboxymethyl Starch
Carboxymethyl Starch for reactive dye printing paste
Carboxymethyl Starch active printing paste is modified from natural polymer, to ensure easy to use and save costs for customers. It has high degree of substitution and recommended to be used with a small amount of sodium alginate or active printing thickener. It is a reliable choice for printing auxiliary product.
- Physical and Chemical Parameters
(1) Composition: Modified polymer polysaccharide mixture.
(2) Appearance: White powder.
(3) Ionic type: Anionic.
(4) pH: 6-8.
(5)Viscosity with additive: 50,000-60000 mPa•s (25℃, 5%,Brookfield LV viscometer, 4# rotor, 6r/min).
(6) Stability: Stable in hard water and weak alkali media.
(7) Storage: This product should be stored in a cool and dry warehouse.
Can be stored for 12 months without opening.
- Ratio of PasteForming
Carboxymethyl Starch has a high ratio of paste forming- viscosity above 50000mPa.s with 5% dosage and quickly forms a paste even in cold water.
- Rheological property
The fluidity of the Carboxymethyl Starch paste is good, and the PVI value is about 0.3.
- Color yield
Carboxymethyl Starch paste has higher color yield and brightness compared with sodium alginate and other modified pastes, especially suitable for active printing of rayon cotton.
- Line definition
Carboxymethyl Starch paste has good water holding and traction property, to obtain a clear line and pattern outline.
- Penetrability
The good permeability of Carboxymethyl Starch paste makes paste easy to penetrate into fabric.
- Seepage through screen
It has good permeability to seep through screen and meet the requirements of high meshes screen.
- Printing Film and Paste Remove
The film formed by Carboxymethyl Starch paste is soft and not gets color staining. The fabric gets a very soft feel by the conventional de-pasting process, which is comparable to sodium alginate.
- Stability
The Carboxymethyl Starch color paste will be stable for 7 days.
- Applicable in Textiles
The Carboxymethyl Starch paste can be used for rayon and cotton fabric reactive dye printing paste, suitable for all tatting and knitted textiles (tests are necessary before application based on different requirements).
- Applicability
The Carboxymethyl Starch printing paste can be used in rotary screen printing, flat screen printing and hand printing.
- Application Example
1). Preparation of reserve pulp
Formula: Carboxymethyl Starch paste 5%, urea 5%-10%, anti-dye salt 1%-2%, and water 80%-83%.
Preparation process:
- Prepare distilled water or softened water.
- Slowly sprinkle the paste into the water while stirring, then adjust the mixer speed at 1500-2000 RPM.
- Keep stirring for 60 minutes to make paste fully dispersed;
- The paste forms quickly without puffing, and can be used instantly after mixing, which is very convenient.
2). Representative color paste formula
Rotary screen printing | Flat screen printing | |
Paste | 60—65% | 70—75% |
Active Dyes | 1—10% | 1—10% |
Sodium Bicarbonate | 1—3% | 1—3% |
Water | Balance | Balance |
3). Printing process:
Printing – Drying – Steaming (100-105 ℃, 8-10 Minutes) – Cold Water Washing – Soap Boiling – Cold Water Washing – Drying.
