1). Application in tile adhesive

Based on test formula as follows-

A. Portland cement (p·O, 42.5R): 37%

B. Sand gradation: 61.2%

C. Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulase: 0.3%

D. Redispersible polymer powder: 1.5%

E. cellulose fiber: 0.3%

Adding cellulose fiber into different formulas of tile adhesive can significantly reduce the slide distance. That is to say cellulose fiber in ceramic tile adhesive does not reduce the workability, but also increases the anti-slip performance of ceramic tile adhesive.

Based on some experiments, mixing a certain proportion of cellulose fiber with mortar, can also prolong the opening time of ceramic tile adhesive, which indicates cellulose fiber has good water conductivity and helps to water retention. It can prolong the opening time of ceramic tile adhesive by 5- 10min, or even longer time. The extension of opening time can improve the construction efficiency.

2). Application in wall putty

A. Cellulose fiber can help to reduce the initial putty cracking. Based on test formula as follows-

A. Portland cement (P • 0, 42.5 R): 28.0%.

B. calcium carbonate powder (350 mesh): 60.0%.

C. calcium carbonate powder (800 mesh): 10.0%.

D. Redispersible polymer powder: 1.0% .

E. Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose: 0.2%.

F. cellulose fiber: 0.5% (ARBOCEL).

Cellulose fiber gives putty good initial anti- cracking performance. This is because cellulose fiber has three-dimensional enhancement function, and increase the putty toughness; It has a function of water conduction, so the lost moisture on surface layer of putty can be supplemented timely and make sure the dry shrinkage of surface layer and inner layer tends to be consistent, reduce the dry cracks caused by uneven shrinkage; The water retention function helps to reduce the free water loss rate in fresh mix putty, thus reducing the drying shrinkage due to water loss.
