Thixotropic lubricant is mainly used in dry mixed mortar products to improve the construction performance of wet mortar, achieve uniform surface, increase sag resistance and the thickness of mortar…
Plastering and stucco are the special building materials used for interior and exterior walls and ceilings, and the adhesives used can be cement based, gypsum based with polymer dispersion. This kind of thixotropic lubricant with flake silicate crystal structure can recover viscosity quickly after application to improve sag resistance. The flake structure reduces the sliding effect between sand and cement particles, making it easier to pump, apply, and process, resulting in a smoother surface with less adhesive to spatulas (stucco tools) and blades. The water-resistance of polymer dispersion stucco is improved due to the addition of rheological auxiliaries, in place of some cellulose ether.
In cement and gypsum plastering/stucco, in addition to the water-retaining and thickening properties given by cellulose ether, thixotropic lubricant material also has similar function.
The Performance of Thixotropic Lubricant in Gypsum-Based Self-Leveling Products
Thixotropic lubricant has the properties of anti-settling and anti-seepage in self- leveling materials.
Now the residence ground widely used is the gypsum base floor, which covers on the concrete floor. Self-leveling flooring provides an ideal surface for tile, wood, carpet, or other decorative floor coverings. Thixotropic lubricants can be used as stabilizers of gypsum base floor to prevent coarse particles from settling and reduce surface water seepage to form a smooth coating. However, it is difficult to use this kind of material as a stabilizer in the cement base floor, because the high pH value of cement-based material leads to the thickening effect reduced.
