A. The rheology properties of starch ether in machine and spray mortar

Starch ethers prevent sagging of mortar and enhance pumping properties. They are easy to distribute evenly in mortar because they are of low viscosity, can dissolve fast, change the rheology of the plaster and gave it thixotropy.

This shows that when the external force is applied, the viscosity of the mortar will be reduced to ensure good pumping performance. On the other hand, when the external force is removed, the viscosity will increase, so that the plaster has better anti-sag performance. The good dispersion and thixotropic thickening properties are beneficial for obtaining excellent rheological properties of mechanical daubing mortar. Cellulose ether and air entraining agent can also play an important role in plastering mortar.

The rate of thickening can be adjusted according to application. For spray mortar applications, starch ether with quick dissolution can be used, and for hand plaster mortar, the dissolution rate can be slightly delayed.

The amount of starch ether used in mortar is very small but with good performance improvement, so it is very cost-effective.

B. Improvement of the apparent status of thin layer materials such as jointing materials, plaster masonry adhesives and decorative plaster. Starch ethers are not always used as thickeners but more often as rheological modifiers. They make the mortar have excellent working performance, the mortar becomes smooth, easy to apply and decorate and produce the perfect surface.
