Gypsum Retarder
Gypsum Retarder
Gypsum plaster retarder is an additive used to slow down the setting time of gypsum-based plasters. It is especially useful in hot or dry weather conditions, where gypsum plaster might set too quickly, making it difficult to work with and finish smoothly.
Type | Appearance | Feature |
GR-50 | Powder | Low content, suitable for low-speed mixers |
GR-90 | Powder | Super-high retardation effect, high content, low addition |
LGR-40 | Liquid | Liquid retarder, easier to use for Plasterboard |
Purpose of Gypsum Plaster Retarder:
- Prolongs setting time: Allows for better workability and finishing.
- Improves drying: Provides more time for leveling and smoothing surfaces.
- Prevents cracking: Reduces early drying stresses that can cause surface cracks.
Application:
- Mixed directly into the water used for preparing the plaster.
- Dose varies depending on the required delay (usually around 0.01-0.01% of the gypsum weight).
Benefits:
- Improved working time for plastering, especially in hot climates.
- Better surface finish.
- Reduced surface cracking and shrinkage.
Application area:
