Polypropylene Mesh Fiber(PPSF)


Polypropylene Mesh Fiber(PPSF) is made of propylene as raw material through special processing. Its appearance is a network structure formed by the interconnection of multiple fiber monofilaments.When the PPSF is put into concrete during the mixing process, the transverse connection among the fiber monofilaments will be destroyed by the concrete’s rubbing and friction to form a fiber monofilament or a network structure that is fully opened. This is because it achieves the anti-cracking effect of many polypropylene fiber monofilaments.

PPSF can effectively control microcracks caused by plastic shrinkage, drying shrinkage, and temperature changes in concrete and prevent and inhibit the formation and development of cracks. As a new kind of anti-cracking fiber for concrete, PPSF is becoming a research and application hotspot in the field of fiber concrete after glass fiber and steel fiber.

Structural design  Although adding PPSF can significantly improve concrete performance, in general, PPSF is still used as the “secondary reinforcement” of concrete to prevent shrinkage and crack concrete and prolong the service life, rather than the “primary reinforcement” to bear the main load. Furthermore, a large number of experiments have also confirmed that although the number of fiber monofilaments obtained after the dispersion of PPSF is large, the volume ratio of 0.9kg-1.8kg of it per cubic meter is only 0.1%-0.2%, so it has no noticeable effect on the parameters such as compressive strength and elastic modulus of concrete. Therefore, it should not change the reinforcement ratio of the main stress bars in the original design after mixing concrete with polypropylene mesh fibers.

Length selection  PPSF in general engineering should be 19mm long.

Proportion design  Typically, the dosage of PPSF in unilateral concrete is 0.9kg, and the dosage of the protective layer of the waterproof layer of the bridge deck is 1.8kg. It is not necessary to change the dosage of other materials. When there is a particular purpose, it can determine the amount of PPSF and the concrete mix ratio through experiments. For the concrete mixed with silica fume, finely ground slag, zeolite powder, and other active mixed materials, the use effect of PPSF is better.

Mixer selection  Need to use a forced mixer.

Feeding process Put in crushed stone, fiber, and sand in order and stir for two minutes to open the fiber fully, then put in cement and water and mix evenly. The construction can also be carried out according to the input sequence of the conventional process, but the stirring time should be extended appropriately to make the fibers disperse evenly.

Stirring time The purpose of stirring is to fully disperse the fiber network into monofilament or open the network structure. Under normal circumstances, it is enough to force the stirring for 2-3 minutes after putting in the concrete with polypropylene mesh fiber.

Molding process There is no special requirement, but the concrete should be thoroughly vibrated.

Conservation process There is no special requirement, and it can be carried out according to the standard concrete maintenance process. However, it can not relax the early maintenance of concrete due to incorporating PPSF.

Durability PPSF Any organic material will gradually age under the comprehensive action of heat, light, oxygen, and other factors and lose its excellent performance. However, there is no such phenomenon when using PPSF because the fibers are entirely protected in the concrete.

Applied range

The performance improvement advantages of PPSF are convenient for almost any engineering fiber concrete. Therefore, combined with the characteristics of our country, the most practical engineering uses of PPSF are selected as follows:

★concrete pavement, bridge deck, airport pavement, factory floor, and other projects. To prolong the project’s service life (it can extend the extraordinary life of the road surface by 5-10 years).

★The walls and roofs of tunnels and mines. When spraying technology is used for concrete construction, the addition of PPSF will also effectively reduce the rebound rate of poured concrete so that the rebound of concrete will not exceed 5%, improve construction efficiency and improve the working environment and conducive to the promotion of wet spray technology.

★Rivers, dams, storage tanks, and other projects. The improvement effect of PPSF on concrete crack resistance, impact resistance, and wear resistance will prolong the project’s service life.

★Military protection engineering, wharf revetment, bridge piers, etc. PPSF dramatically improves the impact resistance of concrete, which will enhance the safety and prolong the service life of such projects.


The inner packaging is 0.9kg/bag or 1.0kg/bag plastic film packaging; the outer packaging is 9kg/bag or 10kg/bag plastic woven bag.
