SidleyChem observes that Saint-Gobain has recently implemented two strategic initiatives in Latin America, further strengthening its leadership position in light and sustainable construction across the region.
Peru: Acquisition of QSI Productos para la Construcción
Saint-Gobain has completed the acquisition of QSI Productos para la Construcción in Peru, further strengthening its regional construction chemicals platform. This follows the integration of Soquimic in 2025 and the established presence of leading brands such as Weber and Z Aditivos. The acquisition reinforces the Group’s positions in key end markets including infrastructure and mining.
Brazil: Gypsum Plant Expansion
In Brazil, Saint-Gobain has announced the construction of a fourth plasterboard production line at its Bahia plant, following the inauguration of a third line in 2024. Once completed, the site will host the largest plasterboard production line in South America, expanding capacity to support the growing adoption of light construction in the region.
Saint-Gobain states that both initiatives are fully aligned with its “Lead & Grow” strategic plan and reinforce its position as a strategic partner in the Latin American construction value chain.
