KANSAI HELIOS Reorganizes its Architectural Coatings Footprint in Adriatic Region

KANSAI HELIOS reorganizes its Architectural Coatings footprint in the Adriatic region to enhance focus, efficiency, and innovation.

Over the past, KANSAI HELIOS has steadily expanded its Architectural Coatings business, establishing a strong market position across the region. As the business has grown, so has the complexity of its production landscape. In today’s increasingly dynamic and competitive environment, further alignment and focus are key to ensuring long-term success.

Building on this strong foundation, the Group is now taking the next step by aligning production, technology and R&D of Architectural Coatings across its network and strengthening key capabilities within dedicated centers of excellence. This approach enables faster innovation cycles, more efficient operations, and a clearer focus on core technologies of closely related product groups.

The future production setup in the Adriatic region will evolve toward a more focused and complementary network of sites, each building on its specific strengths. Slovenia (Količevo) will continue to play a key role as an advanced and highly capable production site, combining strong technical expertise with integrated development capabilities. Serbia (Gornji Milanovac) will further strengthen its role as an efficient and scalable production site, well-positioned to support regional development and future growth.

As part of this process, production activities currently carried out at Chromos boje i lakovi d.d. in Zagreb, Croatia, will be gradually relocated to existing KANSAI HELIOS sites in Slovenia and Serbia, leading to a phased discontinuation of production at the Zagreb site. The Croatian market will remain of strategic importance and will continue to be served by KANSAI HELIOS Croatia d.o.o. as a dedicated trading organization offering the full KANSAI HELIOS portfolio and ensuring continuity for customers and partners.

The transition will be realized in phases over the coming years and carefully managed to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated transfer of production. Throughout the process, established standards for product performance and quality will be maintained. With a phased and structured implementation, customers can rely on a high level of consistency and supply reliability.

This more focused setup allows KANSAI HELIOS to bring expertise, processes, and investments closer together, improving planning reliability and strengthening resilience and scalability across its operations. At the same time, it supports a more targeted allocation of resources toward core technologies and long-term growth priorities.

KANSAI HELIOS acknowledges that this transformation has a tangible impact on its employees, particularly colleagues in Croatia, and fully recognizes the uncertainty it may create. The Group is committed to managing this transition with responsibility, care, and transparency. Employees are being informed at an early stage to provide as much clarity as possible, and all measures are implemented in full compliance with legal requirements and accompanied by individual discussions with those directly affected.

With a more focused production footprint and a stronger concentration of key capabilities, KANSAI HELIOS reinforces its ability to deliver reliable, high-quality, and innovative solutions – and to continue its growth journey from a position of strength
