Kashkadarya to Launch US$50 Million Construction Materials Production Plant

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Plans have been unveiled to organize the production of dry building mixtures and gypsum board in the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, representing an investment volume of US$50 million. The project is being implemented within the framework of bilateral investment cooperation with Azerbaijan, as announced by the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Khurram Teshabaev, in an interview with the news outlet Report.az.

The deputy minister cited this manufacturing plant as a concrete example contributing to the broader investment portfolio between the two nations, the total potential package of which is currently valued at US$10 billion.

According to Teshabaev, the joint portfolio already encompasses more than 20 active projects with an aggregate value of approximately US$6 billion, alongside over 25 prospective initiatives worth nearly US$1.5 billion that are currently in various stages of preparation.

The construction materials enterprise aligns with a broader industrial cooperation strategy pursued by both countries, which is heavily oriented toward establishing high-value-added manufacturing operations and expanding regional production chains.

The Kashkadarya region stands as one of Uzbekistan’s key industrially developed zones, backed by robust gas and chemical infrastructure. These regional advantages make it a highly promising site for anchoring construction chemistry and building materials manufacturing facilities.

Teshabaev emphasized that the ongoing economic policy is targeted toward “the qualitative enrichment of the trade structure through the expansion of industrial cooperation, the establishment of joint production plants, and increasing the overall share of goods with high added value.”
