Through its joint venture Berger-Becker Coatings, Beckers Group opened a state-of-the-art resin manufacturing plant in Nagpur, India. The plant, which was inaugurated by Fabio Pedrazzi, CEO of Lindéngruppen, on May 28, 2026, is part of Beckers Group’s long-term strategy to expand production capacity, enhance supply chain resilience and accelerate the adoption of more sustainable coating technologies globally. Commercial production will begin in Q3 2026, with a gradual ramp up to a production of around 9,000 metric tons of polyester resins annually and plans to boost capacity in the future.

A step forward in high-performance resin technology

“This facility reflects our ambition to lead the industry – not only in volumes, but in innovation, sustainability and customer value,” said Eric Fouissac, President Asia & Middle East at Beckers Group. “India is a critical pillar of our global growth strategy, and this project demonstrates our long-term commitment to the region.”

The new facility, with next-generation automation, safety systems and environmental controls, is designed to strengthen both the global capabilities of Beckers Group and the local market position of Berger-Becker Coatings in India. The country continues to be one of Beckers Group’s most dynamic growth regions, with increasing demand from construction, appliances and infrastructure sectors driving the need for advanced resin technologies

As the backbone of coil coatings performance, high-quality resins play a critical role in durability, corrosion resistance and weatherability. The new facility ensures Beckers has full control over this technology-defining component. The Nagpur plant will produce renewable and recycled-content resins, a category that is reshaping transitions toward more circular material flows. These advanced resins include recycled PET, Wet IPA and other alternative feedstocks to improve resource efficiency and lower the carbon footprint compared with conventional petrochemical-derived resins. Renewable raw materials will initially account for 5-10% of the materials used at the plant.

“The new plant will enhance our ability to meet increasing customer demand, strengthen our supply chain independence, and introduce advanced resin technologies tailored for the Indian market We extend a special thank you to our partner, Berger Paints, for their exceptional support throughout the project” says Rajesh Mehrotra, Managing Director at Berger-Becker Coatings
