Shotcrete Accelerator

01 Overview

Shotcrete accelerator is an admixture used in shotcrete that enables rapid setting and hardening of concrete. With its distinct advantages in accelerating setting and early strength development, shotcrete accelerator has become one of the most critical materials in shotcrete engineering.

The alkali-free liquid Shotcrete accelerator has excellent properties of rapid setting, early strength, micro-expansion, crack resistance, anti-seepage, corrosion resistance, and anti-corrosion for concrete. It does not corrode steel bars, pollute the environment, or harm workers’ health, but it has a significant quick-setting effect on concrete. The condensation effect is especially suitable for concrete that needs to harden quickly; the early and later strength retention rate of concrete is high. The product complies with the national standard GB/T 35159-2017 “Accelerating Setting Agent for Shotcrete” and the U.S. standard ASTM C1141/C1141M-08.

Technical performance:

(1) Physical properties: Milky yellow liquid, non-toxic, non-irritating odor, non-flammable. Solid content: (50±2.5)%;

(2) Chemical properties: pH value: 3.0±1; chloride ion content ≤0.1%; total alkali content ≤1%.

Applied range:

(1) Underground engineering: shotcrete support lining of mine tunnels, traffic tunnels, hydraulic tunnels, underground railways, and caverns for various purposes (underground power stations, and warehouses);

(2) Geotechnical engineering: retaining walls for slopes, foundation pits, reservoirs, embankment channels, pools, and other projects;

(3) Repair and reinforcement projects: reinforcement of bridges, seawalls, dams, docks, cooling towers, chimneys, and housing buildings, as well as repair of building structures caused by chemical corrosion in oil fields, fires, earthquakes, blasting impact overloading or poor construction;

(4) Protection projects: fire protection and anti-corrosion layers of various structures, as well as water drainage and leakage plugging projects;

(5) Fire-proof engineering: constructing and repairing chimneys and various thermal furnaces.

Packaging and storage:

(1) This liquid product is packaged and transported in plastic barrels, iron barrels, or tank trucks. It can also be packaged in special packaging according to user requirements;

(2) Pay attention to prevent frost or direct exposure to the sun during the storage period of the product. The storage temperature is 5℃-35℃. The warranty period is three months.

02 Features

(1) The dosage is low (6%~9%), has a significant rapid setting effect, and a short interval between the initial and final setting;

(2) Good early strength development and sustained early strength development. The 1d strength of the mortar specimen can exceed 18MPa, which has little impact on the later strength. The 28d compressive strength ratio can reach 100~110%, and the 90d compressive strength retention rate up to 100~120%;

(3) It has a good spraying effect, fast condensation and hardening, and a slight rebound rate of less than 10%;

(4) It has a micro-compensated shrinkage function, which can effectively prevent cracking after injection molding;

(5) It does not contain alkaline substances, has low chloride ion content, and has no adverse effects on the durability of concrete;

(6) Less dust and no irritating odor, creating a good working environment for workers. The product is not strongly acidic or alkaline, does not corrode steel bars or pollute the environment;

(7) The product is environmentally friendly: the production process is non-toxic, harmless, and conducive to sustainable development.

03 Instructions

(1) The dosage range of this product is 6% to 9% (calculated as cementitious material). Determine the optimal dosage within the recommended range based on cement adaptability, temperature changes, construction technology, and other requirements.

(2) The dosage must be correct according to the mix ratio, and the construction specifications should strictly carry out the construction;

(3) When spraying, be sure to operate according to specifications and pay attention to the uniformity, smoothness, and density of the spray;
