Textile printing thickeners

Textile Printing Thickener

Textile printing thickeners are high-molecular-weight compounds added to printing pastes to increase viscosity, typically in the form of hydrophilic colloids or emulsified pastes. In screen printing, it regulates paste viscosity to ensure sharp pattern outlines while serving as a dye carrier and adhesive to influence print quality. Primary types include sodium alginate, Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, and tamarind gum. These substances must possess alkali resistance, salt resistance, rheological properties, and easy de-dispersion characteristics to suit different fabrics and dyeing processes.
