Silicone hydrophobic powder weathering test
Silicone hydrophobic powder is a crucial dry-mix mortar additive based on silicone compounds. After application, it imparts a lotus-leaf effect to the surface layer, preventing water ingress while offering excellent water resistance, breathability, and durability.
This test involved preparing a dry-mix mortar containing silicone hydrophobic powder and an organic polymer redispersible polymer powder (RDP). After mixing with water, test specimens measuring 160*40*40 mm were formed, placed outdoors for curing, and observed.

Observation & Conclusion:
After 4 months of outdoor exposure, observation indicates that while the surface lotus-leaf (hydrophobic) effect has diminished, the hydrophobic effect within the internal structure of the specimen remains distinctly evident.
